This is the final Roster in brawl:
These appear to be all the characters you get. however, there could be more as these you get from Just the Subspace Emissary... or so my sources tell me. We could see more come by way of vs matches or downloads. We were promised a large roster. 35 is fairly large, but I believe we will see more.
Anyone have any bets as to who could get in? Here are mine:
-mewtwo
-Geno
-Krystal
-Bowser Jr.
I'm still down that Ridley isn't playable :(. He was like second or third on the top ten voted characters of who the fans wanted in brawl. |

Okay, first thing first, I have to tell you that you have to see some footage of ROB fighting, I thought that he was going to suck some major...suckage at first. Then I saw him in action and he actually looks cool. He has these disk things that he can shoot, he has lazer beams out of his eyes, he has rocket boosters that allow him to fly (kinda), and has like an electro-shock slash thing when he punches. There are other characters that are more deserving than him, but still, he looks like he could be fun.
Next, its attack of the clones all over again. Toon link and Link are exactly the same, they even have the same final smash. I mean, they could have given him a giant skull hammer and he could parade around, squashing foes as a final smash, but no. What about the wind waker? Maybe he could summon like a hurricane or something. And 2 clones of the same character??? WTF Sakurai. They have the same movesets and even the exact same final smash. Yes, the landmaster three times over :|. Fox I can see in the landmaster, but falco AND wolf? Wolf isn't even on the same team. I think that Falco's should be that he hops in a jet, joined by the rest of the starfox team and you fly around the stage just blasting the crap out of everything. Wolf I can't see in a landmaster. he isn't part of the Starfox team and thus doesn't get a landmaster, ever. His could have been that he does something similar to Falco, but with the wolfen team, just change how its done or the effect of it a bit. As for ness and lucas, there is no excuse. No one cares about lucas. He isn't known outside of Japan and no one really cares for another clone. Sure their attacks may be slightly different in their effect and what they do, but they essentially clones. Again, Ganondorf is a part clone. If Sakurai went to the trouble of making him look like TP ganondorf, then give him a TP moveset, meaning give him his effing sword! We don't want anymore clones, and Sakurai promised us that he would cut down on the clones. 5 clones :| too many.
I agree haze, the roster was looking decent. Then it was screwed. It still looks halfway decent, but we weer promised less clones, and more characters. 35 is a decent number, if the characters were different :| It looks very rushed. They had what, at least 2 years to make a new smash? They used much of the same fighting system, which would give them ample time to come up with characters and movesets. But, nintendo being nintendo, they didn't.
Jigglypuffs in again. WHY!?!?! NO ONE LIKES IT!
What this roster needs IMO:
-individual movesets for each character
-characters who people actually voted for: Geno, Ridley, Isaac etc
I don't want to hear any of this "well, just be happy you're getting the game at all" or "stop whining you ..." I want none of it. This is a game that we were all looking forward to for a long time and as the people who are actually spending the money and making these people rich, I think that we deserve SOME sort of compensation.
Well, that's all I've come up with in five minutes right now... Bash me all you want, but I'll hold firm: the roster now looks rushed and lazily thrown together. I agree haze, the roster is most disappointing from my perspective as well. |

well, taking a look at this roster, I am sad to say. that even all they delays, this roster is disappointing, like honestly, it looks rushed... again, with the four pokemon reps? why is there only one rep of the Metroid series? a clone of ness...why? Ya sure, Sakurai says that they all have their own move sets, but take a look at ness' and lucas', they are basically the same. Toon link? was that really necessary, it could have been a like a mode, toon mode... but no, they wasted a character spot on that, they should have just kept in young link. Whats with wolf in this now....its either fox and falco, or fox and wolf, shouldn't have been both? wheres roy? he was pretty cool....cooler than marth, who wears a freaking tiara. R.O.B? now I'm sorry theres no explanation for that guy, to be in the game, let alone a playable character.
What happened to the original character potentials, I mean, the original roster, before the Japanese, launch, it looked like it had some serious potential

Now that looks like a good line up, this just looks rushed, and like they were trying to put some more casual players in the game...at that rate, Im surprised tom nook wasn't included (and Thank God he wasn't...)
