Hi everyone, These are just general tournament rules that we have here at Level up GAMER, in each tournament, the host (Usually us, but you guys can set up tournaments with as as well) is free to set their own rules, but these are just the rules that are here indefinite, and stand even if the host didn't mention them in their rule book.
Well here we go, here are the Rules:
1)Eligibility - Well first and formost, to even be eligible to participate in a Level up GAMER Tourament, you must be a member, if you aren't one click here, if you are one but havnt logged in? either log in above, or click here
2)The Host - The host is the person who is running the tournament, be it, us, or one of you guys. it is imperative that those who participate in the tournament follow the rules that the host sets, so that everything runs smoothly. Also, please note that while we do not plan to host every tournament (we hope you members out there will set up your own tournament) what we DO, do, is retain the authority to intervene in any tournament, meaning that, if a tournament is breaking one of the rules, on too any fronts, out of control etc, we well intervene, and possibly close the tournament. Just a warning for you all to consider.
3)R-e-s-p-e-c-t - As always you must respect other, whether it is the host and the mods, or the people involved in the tournament. Also, now this is key, IF YOU DO NOT RESPECT OTHERS, CHANCES ARE YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE TOURNAMENT! This goes for both sides as well, probably even more so for the host and mods, I recommend that you do not get on their bad side, becasue they do retain the power to ban you from the tournament and such, and we don't want that. Also, Harassment can result and a DQ and/or suspension from the forums (that is excessive taunting an opponent, and just being plain annoying.
4) Cheating - Don't do, just don't. If you do, we will find out, and DQ you, and possibly suspend you from the forum (depends on the severity of cheating). Also, the rule can be over turned only if the host allows cheating in the tournament (very unlikely to ever happen, but ya) then and only then is rule void. This can very from banned (from the tournament) techniques that can be used in the game, AR (Action Reply/Game Shark) technology, etc. Now, just to be clear, let me restate this. DO NOT CHEAT IN A TOURNAMENT MATCH,WE WILL CATCH YOU, SO DON'T DO IT!
5)Match times - We will try and co-ordinate times that will be effecient for all time zones, that being said, if you live in America, and your scheduled to play some one is say, japan or so, dont miss the match, we will not reschedule, it will be counted as a Loss towards you. Why not reschedule? Well, fist off, if you are playing someone half was across the world, it takes time for us to find an appropriate and fair time for you to have your match, and once that is set, we do NOT want to go through that again, for, like I said, it takes time and is difficult.And finally the the other person/people show up and you didn't, we're not going to make them reschedule and rework their time, just for you, same goes with showing up for a match on time, we will wait 5 minutes, if you are not there, it will be recorded as a Loss. Come on, showing up on time is just common courtesy.
6) Teams - In many tournaments, you will be playing in teams (ie. The upcoming Halo 3 tournament). Now with that said, You will all have the option of choosing your own teams (unless otherwise specified by the host). And with that said, we do retain the liberty to change your teams, so make sure you choose a good team, becasue if one person violates a rule, that could spell trouble for your entire team (seriously, we don't want to do that, its more work for us that really isn't necessary). For tournaments where we asking the teams, we will require your stats (we don't plan on looking at the ourselves, more work we don't want to do) so to combat that, we will use the honor system. You may be saying, OH SWEET, NOW I CAN BATTLE NEWBS! No, again, we will monitor the matches, and with that, most probably see your stats, and if you fake your stats to go to a lower class, you will be DQ'ed, similarly for the other way around, you fake your stats to go up a class (don't know why someone would do that, unless they WANT to get smoked or something), you may be removed from that class to the appropriate one (you can request to go to a higher class, but if its full or theres a waiting list, don't count on it).
