Current Wii System Menu Version: 4.1
This update doesn't really do much of anything, according to Ninty it helps with some performance issues, and it deletes and software mods and what not.
Wii Weather Channel current updates and features: Get the latest weather news and updates from the the weather network on the Wii. Now displays the current temperature straight from the Wii start up menu -No New Updates-
Wii News Channel current updates and features: Check on the latest news headlines directly from the Wii. Now displays the news tickers (current headlines) from the Wii Start up menu -No New Updates-
Vote Channel current updates and features: Vote in global polls submitted by other Wii owners. Now updated to be compatible with version 3.3 -No New Updates-
Photo channel current updates and features: updated to version 1.1 (just hover the wii-mote over the channel to see if it says 1.1, if not then you don't have it. Still plays videos (heres where you can download Wii Video 9 safely and put videos on the Wii in the correct format) also, if you like listening to your music on the photo channel, your going to have to convert those files to ACC format (MP4) which is much better quality than mp3 (plays at universal 192bps, can go lower or higher, depends on the user) an conventional ACC(MP4) converter is iTunes, because the iPod uses mp4 already. You can now also change the main wii menu picture to whatever you want now (your own photos) you can still only add content using SD however.
Wii Shop Channel current updates and features: This is where one can download all the old school console titles using a wii points card or a credit card. Now shows newest added content from the Wii menu start up screen, and when the channel is started, you have the option of going to the newest added content. As well as it was tailored for Wii Ware support. Now you can also download from the Virtual Arcade. The Virtual Arcade allows you to download old arcade Favourites.
Internet Channel current updates and features: Surf the web from the comfort of your own living room using the Wii, this channel has been updated in like august of 07 or something. but basically that was the last update for the channel. They just made a better start up interface, USB keyboard support, and added minimal features (basically just the wii mote short keys you'd find on the message board), none exactly worth mentioning however...
Check Mii Out current updates and Features: Share your Mii's with the world and have people vote on your Mii designs. The Newest updates now allows you to view your Mii's (and submitted Mii's i believe) in the check mii out lobby
Mii Channel current updates and features: You can now put Mii directly into the Mii Parade, of course losing all credit that you made the Mii.
Nintendo Channel current updates and features: Now you can apparently view results from votes of games, but I still haven't found this function (to be blunt I didn't have the patience to look so...).
SD Channel current updates and features: This is the storage solution for the Wii. You can now download wii ware, virtual console, virtual arcade, and channels directly to the SD card. Now you can launch games and channels directly from your SD or SDHC card using a new SD Card Menu. With this update, the wii can now take SDHC cards with a maximum of 32GB. additional information for SD Channel - Game save data must be on the Wii console (not on the SD Card) in order to be recognized by its associated game. - If you re-download an updated version of the Wii Channel or game from the Wii Shop Channel, the older version of the item saved to the SD Card may not run from the SD Card Menu. - Some features of WiiConnect24 will not work with games or Wii Channels when they are launched from the SD Card Menu. These features will only work when the item is moved or copied into the Wii system memory

Supposedly, with this new 3rd update for the Wii, you can now use a usb keyboard to type on the wii shop channel and message board, but not the opera channel for the time being. I have yet yo try this out. I will probably do it sometime tommrow....er this morning, to either confirm this or simply say its not true, but ign.com is good, so i don't think they would make this up. Source: IGN

nintendo has made a new update that, if your system freezes up while using the shopping channel or internet channel, you can now reset the system. I for one give nintendo my official seal of respect whyÉ becasue now they are spending time making usefull updates, like the game previews are usefull, the new system updates are usefull and spending less time making useless and stupid channels like the check mii out channel.....

| Update 3.3 has been here since June 17th. no much has changed really. I'm looking for Nintendo to make news Wii menu themes or colour choices or something, ya know, to keep me entertained with the system, becasue right now the games aren't doing it for me... |
